Program Coordinator
Heather is responsible for Operations and is the Funding Manager of the Pond-Deshpande Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
She develops innovative programs for entrepreneurs, is a key resource for clients and the public looking to start and grow their businesses, and provides leadership within the PDC team.
Heather facilitates the development of collaborative partnerships, and is known as the “match-maker.” Heather is also a trusted advisor, coach and mentor and believes in the power of listening to learn.
Don’t tell Heather, “I don’t think it can be done” because she does not believe in excuses for herself or others. She will find a way to break new ground, and she encourages people to do the same by forging their own paths. She strongly believes in the ability of the people in this region to work together to creatively solve our most complex challenges.
Heather’s favorite questions are “Why?” and “Why not? She prefers the “yes and” to “yes but” approach and is a proponent of the attitude of gratitude.
Heather has a Law Degree from Dalhousie University and became a member of the Newfoundland & Labrador Barristers’ Society in 1986. She has enjoyed a 30-year career in the legal, business, education and non-profit sectors.
